CITI offers free training to community boards, neighborhood groups and youth throughout the five boroughs. Our next training session is TBD. Contact us for details at ssherman@mas.org.
All of our training sessions are led by trained facilitators who assist participants as they follow step by step instructions in the CITI Training Manual.
Participants will be introduced to the interactive mapping website www.myciti.org and will learn how to: create detailed maps of their neighborhoods; e-mail maps to others; print maps and insert maps in MS Word and PowerPoint for presentations. Participants will also be given an overview of available data on land use, zoning, transportation, citywide planning proposals and gain an understanding of sources and accuracy of data.
Prerequisites:
No previous map-making experience is necessary. It is recommended that participants be familiar with basic methods of browsing the Internet.
